Simeon Goshev

Simeon Goshev is a Bulgarian pianist, based in Vienna. His authentic and unique pianism, rich and colorful sound palette and faultless technique bring many music lovers and connoisseurs to the concert halls in Europe and Asia. His creative and conceptual programming and vivid and moving interpretations are highly praised and valued.

In the current 25/26 season he has solo engagements in Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Vienna, the Royal Theater in Warsaw and many others. His first CD recording with orchestra came out in 2025: with Bartok’s Piano Concerto Nr. 3. In the same year he was on stage with four other piano concertos: by Mozart, Liszt, Ravel and Gershwin, as well as partnering many famous European musicians in chamber music festivals in Rhineland-Pfalz, Budapest, Sofia, Varna etc. In 2024 he made his debut in China with solo recitals, chamber music concerts and as a soloist for orchestras in Beijing, Suzhou, Shenzhen.
The last years in Simeon’s career have been marked by success. In the past few seasons, he performed regularly in Germany, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Poland. Simeon has recorded for the Bavarian Radio, the Austrian National Radio (ORF), the Bulgarian National Radio and Television. He is a laureate of prestigious international piano competitions: the last of which were the Grand Prix of the Bösendorfer Competition in Vienna, 2nd Prize of “Pancho Vladigerov” Competition in Shumen and two prizes of the “Leos Janacek” in Brno.
His first solo album “Bulgarian piano heritage”, a project, backed up by the Ministry of Culture in Bulgaria and aimed at making Bulgarian classical music known around the world, was released in the beginning of 2022.
Simeon is deeply interested and involved in various aspects of classical music - in February 2021 he successfully obtained his PhD from the National Conservatory in Sofia, Bulgaria with a dissertation on Stravinsky’s ballets. In October 2021 he became part of the esteemed teaching team of the piano department at MDW and as from September 2023 he is also a lecturer in the other major music university of Vienna – Musik und Kunst Universität der Stadt Wien.
As of 2021 Simeon Goshev is an official Bösendorfer Artist, representing one of the world’s leading piano brands.

 

Simeon Goshev ist ein in Wien lebender bulgarischer Pianist. Seine authentische und einzigartige Spielweise, reiche und bunte Klangpalette und tadellose Technik bringen zahlreiche Musikliebhaber und Connoisseurs zu den Konzertsälen in Europa und Asien. Seine kreativen und oft thematischen Konzertprogramme und mitreißenden und ausdrucksvollen Interpretationen sind hochgeschätzt.
In der laufenden Saison 2025/26 hat er Solo-Engagements im Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Königlichen Theater Warschau und vielen anderen. Im Jahr 2025 erschien seine erste Aufnahme mit Orchester: mit dem 3. Klavierkonzert von B. Bartok mit dem Symphonieorchester Vratsa. Im selben Jahr trat er mit vier weiteren Klavierkonzerten auf: von Mozart, Liszt, Ravel und Gershwin.
Dazu spielte er mit vielen prominenten MusikerInnen bei Festivals in Rheinland-Pfalz, sowie in Budapest, Sofia, Varna u.a. Im Jahr 2024 mache er sein Debut in Asien mit zwei Konzerttournees in China – mit Konzerten in Beijing, Suzhou, Shenzhen u.a.
Aufnahmen machte Simeon Goshev für den Bayerischen Rundfunk, den Österreichischen Rundfunk (ORF), den Bulgarischen Rundfunk und das bulgarische Fernsehen. Seine erste Solo-CD mit bulgarischer Klaviermusik wurde im Januar 2022 veröffentlicht. Er ist Preisträger zahlreicher internationaler Klavierwettbewerbe, u.a. Bösendorfer Wettbewerb in Wien, „Pantscho Wladigerow“ Wettbewerb in Schumen, "Leoš Janáček" in Brünn u.a.
Der junge bulgarische Pianist hat seine musikalische Ausbildung an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (mdw) abgeschlossen, nachdem er bei Weltklassemusikern wie Stefan Vladar, Oleg Maisenberg und Liliya Zilberstein studierte.
Simeons Interesse gilt vielen Aspekten der klassischen Musik. Im Februar 2021 schloss er seine Promotion am Nationalen Konservatorium in Sofia mit einer Dissertation über Strawinskys Ballette ab, im Oktober 2021 wurde er Teil des renommierten Lehrendenteams des Instituts für Tasteninstrumente an der mdw und seit 2023 lehrt er auch an der Musik und Kunst Universität Wien.

Seit 2021 ist Simeon Goshev Bösendorfer Artist und vertritt damit eine der weltweit führenden Klaviermarken.
